What Is Stormwater?
Stormwater originates from rainfall and other precipitation that runs off of surfaces all over the city - rooftops, streets, lawns, etc. Stormwater makes its way into natural water sources and takes everything from city surfaces with it to these areas.
Responsibilities
This division has the responsibility of ensuring the safety and maintenance of all public streets, alleys, and rights-of-way.
About Our Water
The City of Grantville purchases its water from Coweta County. The Public Works Department routinely monitors our water for potential contaminants by frequently sampling the water and having regulatory tests completed to ensure clean and safe water is delivered to our residents.
Garbage Collection
Residential customers receive once a week curbside garbage collection and every other week curbside recycling collection. Recycling is always serviced on Fridays.
Garbage and recycling carts must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on collection days.
Residents may place up to four cubic yards of unbundled brush curbside on their second collection day each week. Larger brush piles in excess of four cubic yards will be subject to a charge of $8 per cubic yard.

The City Manager is appointed by the Mayor and Council and serves as the chief managerial aide to the Mayor. The City Manager oversees all City departments and all day to day activities.
It is the City Manager's job to:
Code enforcement is responsible for identifying, investigating, and notifying property owners and residents who are in violation of city ordinances. These ordinances range from environmental issues, such as overgrowth of grass and weeds, excessive litter, trash, refuse, abandoned and inoperable vehicles to animal control. Keeping the public safe is our number one goal.
The mission of the City of Grantville Animal Control officer is to enforce the state laws and city ordinances pertaining to animal control and management as well as educate the community in responsible pet ownership.
We will be having a Webinar in the Council Chambers today, September 13, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
Trunk or Treat will be October 27, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in downtown Grantville.
Grantville Municipal Court is a limited jurisdiction court. The bench consists of one part-time judge and one judge pro-tempore who serves in the absence of the judge. The jurisdiction of the municipal court includes general misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic violation, and other municipal local ordinances.
Mission Statement
Grantville Senior Activity Center is a recreational gathering place for independent older adults. We provide leisure/recreational activities, fitness activities, educational activities, nutrition programs, transportation, spiritual programs, and other supplemental services.

Free Bulk Pick Up service will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of the second and fourth week of every month. You will need to call City Hall at 770-583-2289, select option 2 and then select option 2 again to add your name and address to the list to be picked up. This is not an automatic service, so adding your name and address to the desired pick up time is necessary each time you have bulk items to be picked up. The truck only picks up if your address is on the list prior to the pick up date.
The City of Grantville has contracted with CSRA Probation Services, Inc. to monitor defendants who have been ordered to complete special conditions set forth by the Court, as well as those who must pay fines and fees assessed by the Court. Probation office hours vary due to servicing numerous courts. If you are on probation, please make sure to report on your scheduled date and time. Probationers must make all payments to the probation department directly. The Municipal Court can not take probation fines and fees.

2. By mail addressed to Grantville Municipal Court, P.O. Box 160, Grantville, GA 30220.

The City of Grantville is taking applications for a Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer. This position requires multiple skills in helping to maintain the safety and health of the citizens by ensuring that the buildings and land in the City of Grantville are in accordance with housing and zoning ordinances. In addition to Code Enforcement duties, this position will also be responsible for Animal Control and some building maintenance tasks. This position reports directly to the City Manager.

The Grantville Police Department is now connected to Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta. As stated in their website www.atlantapolicefoundation.org, "The organization is based on a public-private partnership model that has proven to be highly effective in the prevention and reduction of crime in major cities."
Chief Whitlock's goal is to utilize all resources available to prevent and reduce crime in Grantville. This relationship with Crime Stoppers is a necessary and needed component.

Today, April 20, Governor Kemp announced the reopening of the businesses listed below. According to the governor, these listed businesses are not opening for business as usual but with minimum basic operations, adhering to social distancing and sanitation guidance. The governor shared that later this week guidance will be issued on proper sanitation and social distancing requirements for these businesses to operate prior to Phase One.

Grantville is among 10 rural broadband expansions Comcast has proposed to complete upon adoption of pole attachment reform consistent with the FCC cable rate in Georgia.

COVID-19 Vaccine Available for the Expansion of Phase 1 A
WATER SERVICE OUTAGES AND INTERRUPTIONS JANUARY 13TH, 2021 BEGINNING AT 9:00 A.M.
Preparatory work for the water valve installation project (scheduled for January 18th @ 9:00 a.m.) will be performed Wednesday, January 13th beginning at 9:00 a.m. This may affect customers throughout Grantville, so please be prepared for service outages and interruptions during this time. This work is expected to last for approximately one hour.
WATER SERVICE WORK MONDAY, 1/18/21 @ 9:00 A.M.
Crews will be in Grantville Monday, 1/18/21 to begin work on our water system to reduce water loss (weather permitting). Beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday, Grantville water service customers will begin experiencing service outages. We expect most of the outages to be concentrated on the west side of the railroad tracks (City Hall side), but it's still possible that services on the east side will be affected. Duration of the work is currently estimated to be one full day, but it's possible that will be extended.
