NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The City of Grantville, Georgia has tentatively adopted a 2024 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 9.08 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Glanton Municipal Complex, 123 Lagrange Street, Grantville, GA 30220 on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 9 a.m. and on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Glanton Municipal Complex, 123 Lagrange Street, Grantville, GA 30220 on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.228, an increase of .435 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 4.793 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $43.50 and the proposed tax increase for non- homestead property with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $43.50.
Georgia law requires each levying and recommending authority to provide the above disclosure to taxpayers. The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.228 mills, an increase of .435 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 4.793 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $3.63 per month or $43.50 annually and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $3.63 per month or $43.50 annually.
