Code Enforcement

Code enforcement is responsible for identifying, investigating, and notifying property owners and residents who are in violation of city ordinances. These ordinances range from environmental issues, such as overgrowth of grass and weeds, excessive litter, trash, refuse, abandoned and inoperable vehicles to animal control. Keeping the public safe is our number one goal.

Code enforcement officers work to ensure cleaner neighborhoods, with the overall goal being to correct the violation and to gain on-going voluntary compliance in the orderly maintenance of property. Code enforcement officers work closely with residents, patrol officers, community service work crews as well as the sanitation department.
