ART CAMP

Calendar Date:
Monday, February 16, 2026 - 10:30am to Wednesday, February 18, 2026 - 1:30pm

The Grantville Branch Library invites middle and high school students to participate in an engaging, two-hour, FREE Art in the Library workshop that blends creativity, technique, and hands-on learning. This immersive session introduces participants to the fundamentals of painting. They will learn color theory, design, and painting structure using water-soluble, oil-based paints.

Under the guided instruction of Millie Gosch, students will paint from life. They will learn the basics of color mixing, understanding values and composition. The workshop will also introduce the six types of light, demonstrating how variations in light create form. Participants will then apply these concepts as they build their own original paintings from the ground up, developing both technical skills and artistic confidence.
This program not only encourages creative exploration but also promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression through art. Whether participants are seasoned artists or first-time painters, they will leave with a deeper understanding of artistic design and a finished piece that reflects their individual creativity. All of the materials are included.
