FIREWORKS SAFETY REMINDER

Happy New Year! The City of Grantville would like to remind everyone that though fireworks are pretty, they can also be dangerous when used improperly. Please make sure you are exercising caution. Fireworks should never be used close to structures or vehicles. Remember that what goes up, must come down, so make sure you’re allowing enough space for a safe landing for any hot embers floating back to the ground. Keep fireworks on your own property to minimize the risk of damaging things belonging to your neighbors. And last, but certainly not least, make sure that the fireworks you are setting off are secured properly to go in the direction you intend. A lit firework can fall over before it detonates and go in a dangerous direction. We look forward to spending the 2022 year with all of you, so please be safe and responsible.
